Seminar on Safety Management in relation to Scaffolding Works

Date: 19 March 2024 (Tuesday) Time: 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm (Registration at 6:30 pm) Venue: E0711, 7/F., Block E, Hong Kong Metropolitan University (Jockey Club Campus) 81 Chung Hau Street, Ho Man Tin, Kowloon. Language: Cantonese Seminar Highlight : In recent years, fall from height has been the main cause of death in relation to industrial accidents. It has been kept at ~40% for the past 4 years. Scaffolding works, due to the inherent nature of the work environment, are always under a constant risk of person falling from height. However, there are also other risk to consider during the course of the work such as falling objects, lifting materials, hot works etc. Proper safety management is necessary to control the hazardous aspects of the work, in order to provide a safe working environment. The seminar will explore various types of scaffold and the respective governing regulation / code of practice from an industry practitioner’s perspective. Speaker: Mr. SO Yu Hang, Flord Mr. Flord So is the Director of the World Pacific Scaffolding Systems Ltd. His family has long been in the scaffolding business since his grandfather’s generation. Following his family footsteps, he joins in the family business in his early 20s. He has now over 45 years of experience in the scaffolding industry, and have participated in over hundreds of projects, including some of the landmarks in Hong Kong, such as the Two International Finance Centre and the International Commerce Centre Registration: For Individual Members of HKOSHA – Please enroll via online registration at http://hkosha.org.hk/ For Company members; HKISA members; Staff and Student of Hong Kong Metropolitan University; Non-members – Please complete the reply slip and return to The Association via email at admin@hkosha.org.hk by 15 March 2024, Friday. Successful application will be notified via email in due course.  The seminar is free of charge and an one-and half hours attendance certificate will be issued to members of HKOSHA; HKISA; staff and student of Hong Kong Metropolitan University upon completion of the seminar. (It will be subject to Labour Department to count the attendance as CPD).  If any non-members wish to obtain an attendance certificate (an administration fee, HK$50 will be charged), please contact Ms. Daisy Luk of HKOSHA Secretariat at 2332 9210 for special arrangement.  No Certificate will be issued to those who arrive after 7:10 pm
