Occupational Safety and Health Seminar on ” Traffic Accident Investigation “

Speaker: Ir. Madison TANG Wing Hong,
Ir Madison Tang, Risk Manager of SITA Waste Services Ltd, is an expert in
Automotive and Mechanical Engineering field for over 37 years. He has
undertaken from the post of Automotive Apprentice since 1974 to the post of
Professional Engineer, during that period over 29 years is in supervisory and
management position. He has 24 years working experience in Safety and Health
and is a Registered Safety Officer since 1987.
He joined the Vocational Training Council as a part-time evening lecturer since
1988. During the period of employment, he taught Vehicle & Engine Technology
Workshop Management and Environmental & Safety subjects for Higher Diploma
and Higher Certificate Courses in the Department of Automotive Engineering.

Abstract of Presentation :
Generally, about 2-3% of road traffic accidents are the results of mechanical
failure, ignoring such items as ‘unexplained accident’ it therefore follows that
approximately around 97%-98% of accidents are probably the results of driver
error. This seminar is providing some guidelines for accident investigation and
simple calculation to find out the fact of traffic accident. The seminar will be about
1.5 hours, which includes reviewing and studying of a traffic accident case.
